Scuffs on a new saddle

A month ago I bought a brand new saddle (a fieldhouse) for my horse. As you can probably imagine I have become absolutley paranoid about it. lol. Where the stirrup leathers are the colour is leaving the leather. I'm going to get some softer stirrup leathers but haven't found any I like yet.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to keep these scuffs to a minimum or to get rid of them? I have been cleaning my saddle with various things in hope that it will lessen the marks, but so far nothing has worked.

I wish i'd bought a second hand one now ...though it is a lovely saddle

Are you using leather on leather (or synthetic on synthetic)? mixing leather with synthetic tends to cause this marking much more.

Try calfskin stirrup leathers - These are much softer so shouldn't leave any marks.
