The new pony we bought has become a bit scurfy. He was a bit poor and his diet has changed , he is on chaff ,pony nuts ,carrots and speedi beet also getting very good hay and going out during the day.His coat is rather thick as he is a native and not being clipped as he is only a tiny 10.3 hand for my grand daughter.
He is groomed each day and it is not a problem but any advice?

Hi, our shetland is the same, I think its due to the mild weather, I notice he scratches a lot, usually his mane, probably too hot in the stable. I wouldn't worry about grooming him too much, If he's sweating at night you could do a bib or trace clip if he will let you! Other than that, just have to wait for the cold weather

I have washed my little Sec A with T-Gel - got her nice and clean and stopped her itching (esp her mane which is quite long) - riffy little thing!
