What can i do about a scurfy coat, it's not attractive at all, she looks like she's been not been brushed in months! It's not her rug either, i've just bought it new.
Even after a good brush there is still millions of scurf, she was the same last year, it isn't as noticeable in summer, but there is still a bit of scurf.

She has happy hoof fed once a day, 2 haynets a day and she's stabled in the night all year.

I've seen linseed recommended before for skin... But doesn't it lead to weight gain? My ID mare is itchy and could do with some skin support but she is also prone to looking like a barrel!!!

Shy is getting 2 tablespoons of oil (am changing to the Charnwood, just wanted to check he'll like the taste) and no it's not put on weight, but yes his coat is starting to improve one week on.

I think it's a matter of tailoring it to meet what you need. Check out all the posts on here - lots of info.

My mare is a good doer and gains weight fast I'm using 35 grams of micronalized linseed (amount determined by vet) to keep her weight steady, she seems fine on it and her coat is gleaming, I also use equiwash safe shampoo lots of tea tree and she's gleaming

Half a mug of micronised linseed (not v technical but worked for me) in feed once a day, a bloomin good bath/rub n rinse, no oils .org the like on his coat, just elbow grease with clean brushes, you’ll see the difference..linseed all the way, and mine is a good doer, it’s never made him overweight.
