Sealskinz winter riding gloves

Thank you :D
Hubby bought me the Sealskinz Ultra grip gloves but they are massive. Feel rotten as I asked for the riding version. So Ive just given them to my brother and Im going to order the winter ones but I hate it when they are bulky. Hmmm what to do :D

I am very lucky, I got the fourth pair today, from sister (she said they were from the horses! :D) Two of the others are still going strong. The only advice I have is make sure that they are the right size, if they are too big they are too bulky, too small and they don't work to keep out the wet.

I bought them a few weeks ago. I love them, especially for soaking hay in this weather and all the outside jobs! I have ridden in them and they are fine, but I wouldn't want them any bulkier. I was surprised how small the sizes are though. I'm usually a S or XS, but I bought ladies medium in these. They also come in a mens size range which is quite different.

I've not tried them. I've had the ultra grip gloves, yes they live up to the hype and probably good for one horse owner, but didn't live up to what I put them through - currently swear by the Activity Glove with the Merino Wool Liners. They really are so waterproof - for example when breaking ice on tanks I can and lift/sieve out ice with my hands, get soaking wet but be dry inside! When its really chilly I put a hand warmer (the sort you knead to warm up) between the liners and the glove on my knuckles, and that keeps me warm for hours!
Look on ebay there is a seller on there who sells them much cheaper than anyone else. Do go on their website and print out the size chart to get the right one - I first bought a size too small in the Ultra Grip and they were so tight as to cut off circulation and make my hands even colder!

Thanks, Ive had a quick look and they only come in s, m, l, so I was just going to order medium. Hubby bought me medium in the ultra grip and they are massive. Under the M it says size 9 and Im a 7. Is the sizing the same in the riding version?

Eeeek, think I better buy from a shop then so I can try them on rather than ordering them online. Thanks

Thanks,
Hubby got mine off Ebay but paid £30 for them! They are massive, maybe he got a mans version

I have fairly small hands and feet, not sure what the size of gloves are, but feet are size 4, I have the extra small sealskinz, when they do leak it tends to be where they are unders tress at the joints where the fingers meet (hope that makes sense) :)

Try them on in the shop, then order cheaper on line! ;)

I have the winder riding gloves, which I do find warm, but not the warmest ever. I used to have some really cheap fleecy ones that were warmer (can't remember where I got them from!!) They are not too bulky; fine for riding - doing up tack buckles etc is another matter!

I break 5 troughs a day and defrost 45 water drinkers in my sealskinz, they are superb, the ladies ones are a much skinnier fit, i.ve had both!

they are pretty bulky - i would only hack in them - would find them far too much for schooling. i have Ariat insulated ones for schooling in. Sealskinz are fab for breaking ice on troughs, making haynets etc though

I love them! For a test I dipped my hands in a water bucket wearing them and my hands were completly dry, they are way better then ski gloves.

I'm actually a small but have mediums so my mum can wear them aswell (but I got her a piar for christmas) and I find the fingers are too long which is a pain but other then that the best gloves I have bought, the price is off putting though.
