Has anyone competed their horse or attended any of the SEIB Search for a Star qualifiers. I think there was one today?

Just wondered what it was like as having a go with my horse at The Hand next month.

Many thanks

The classes can be quite big - there were 19 in the cob class, and the RH/Hack class was so big that they had to split it into two. Make sure you know exactly what is expected in a show class as this will impress the judges almost as much as having a nice horse. If you get the chance to ask questions, make sure you do as this is a great opportunity to find out how to improve both you and your horse.

Good luck!

Thanks FMM
We've done some local show classes and been placed as well as doing dressage. As SEIB is for amateurs I thought I'd give it a go. I've watched a number of hunter classes so am now aware of what I need to do. Hope to have a trial run in a local novice hunter class before then.

Anyway I'm looking forward to learning and hopefully come away with tips on improving.

Thanks

We did it the first year with our cob who finished second in the final. I then had another go with another cob we had a couple of years later and then tried to qualify my old horse for the Riding Club Horse class.
The standard gets better and better and is very professional. It is a brilliant experience and the judges are really helpful and happy to give you adivce after your class.

i did the Hunter one, working hunter and RC horse. The WH there was only 4 of us, i had a fence down so that was that.

The other classes were HUGE, 40 in each and took over 2 hours to get through.

Not my idea of fun!!
