hi everyone!
ok, so i have a really nice albion jumping saddle in black and use it on everyone - but now with 3 horses going to the same shows, its beginning to get a bit rushed swapping it from horse to horse!!!
so i think i'm goin have to scrape the bottom of the barrel and buy another saddle! im looking for a 17.5 inch m - mw brown/tan jumping saddle ideally and albion or pessoa. does anyone know the best place to go looking - it doesnt have to be new so any second hand tack shops or any ideas would be great!?!?

thanks

Derby House normally have a good selection of second hand. I wouldn't buy another Pessoa IMO there are better saddles for the price.

I would go for the same style saddle as you are used to riding in, pessoas are very different to an Albion, you might find yourself still wanting to use the Albion on everything, even though you have a new saddle, as the albion feels nicer to ride in. As you know the size that fits I would go for Ebay

We recently bought a brand new Albion Kontrol Deep straight saddle. We had it fitted locally but didn't really want to spend £1100 buying it so I spent the next day ringing round all over the country trying to find a second hand one. Derby House didn't have second hand but they recommended I ring Throstle Nest Saddlery in Barnsley. To cut a long story short I couldn't find one second hand and the one on e-bay at the time was climbing and climbing in price. I then started ringing round for the best price on a brand new one and Throstle Nest did a deal for £850. So I saved a lot of money. It was an ex-demo and had a couple of marks (which have since polished out) and it is amazing. Even spending the £20 on fuel to go and pick it up meant we still saved a bloody fortune. I think it's great, fits really well and for a horse with such a big awkward shoulder it is perfectly contoured. I would recommend ringing round and seeing what kind of deal you can find.

To also sing Derby House's praises - they recommended I try Throstle Nest (as they are a specialist Albion sockist) and gave me their number. I also had a dressage saddle fitted at Derby House a couple of weeks ago and was very impressed and absolutely thrilled with my bargain up there.
