Searching for horsebox: is this wide enough?

I just came across a horsebox that seems ideal but I'm worried about the width. The horse area is only 6ft because of the tack lockers cutting in. However it is 8.9 ft long. Would large horses be comfortable travelling herringbone or is it just too narrow? If my horse wears a 6ft6 rug I just don't see how they'd turn around in it without brushing their chest or bum, which is odd because it's a massive big 7.5 tonner!

Agree with previous poster, surely when they are standing herringbone it is more than 6ft. But agree, whether herringbone or not you still need them to be able to turn and come out and at a point in that turn you are going to have the tight spot where they are nearly horizontal across.

The only thing I would say is in a 7,5t without tack lockers, my 17hh ID lump managed to turn from herring bone to come off the lorry, and he has 7 foot rugs.

So if your tack lockers intrude more than 6 inches or so, I would be a bit concerned, but if not, then subject maybe to you demanding to try it out, it may be ok as your horse is 6 ft 6 rugs, may be worth trying horse or one of an equivalent size in it. Or remove that tack locker,,,,.

Thanks for the replies, as nice as the box looks I think I'm going to give it a miss as it's too far to try out with my own horses. I'm also very aware that I'll probably have horses in the future that are bigger, and the one in 6ft6 rugs is still growing anyway. I just don't want to risk them panicking because they feel trapped when positioning to get in or out. Maybe I should measure my current box tomorrow, as that's a perfect width!
