I am moving next year and am looking for a livery yard close to Toronto. Does anyone have recommendations i will need livery there for around four months?
Not a wonder then why i cant find anything on search engines when i type in livery yards lol. we are planning on buying somewhere with some land and a small barn on the outskirts of the city. No idea whereabouts i'm pretty easy going i don't mind travelling to work from anywhere as long as its around an hour I would like it to be kind of horsey area so i can meet some people. I have had a nosey at some places but i am finding looking for property a little difficult here we can just type in the approx areas and it comes up in the likes of property pal i cant find a property search like that one.
When I was looking I just emailed a Remax office, told the Realtor what I wanted (be specific acreage wise otherwise they'll show you something with 2 acres of backyard) in an approximate area and let them find me something.
We arrived September 26th, saw over 20 properties in the following 2 days, offered for one on the 30th, closed the deal and moved in October 30th. Buying properties here is VERY different from in the UK, your Realtor does so much of the paperwork work for you - that's what they are licensed to do, it is a lot faster too!
I'll find the website that is excellent, we use it just to browse and drool over properties whilst we decide where we are going next!
If you are looking for a property where you can keep your horse make sure that your Realtor knows that, as agricultural zoning may apply. You can have a back yard of 6 acres but if you don't have zoning they won't let you keep a horse on it.
I actually have some very good Realtor friends, they are based in Cambridge but will find you somewhere anywhere. Have pm'd you
