Looking for some advice on a supplement to use on my tb mare, her behaviour is really bad at the moment she is in and out of season so often, rearing, stressy and just generally not very nice to be around :(. Last year at this time she has a ovarian tumour removed (it was massive around 15cm) her behaviour then was very stallion like, aggressive, and in and out of season all the time. I have had her scanned 2 weeks ago by my vet there was no sign of a tumour but remaining ovary was slightly enlarged and of an abnormal feel. we have agreed to monitor her through winter and if no better in spring try the regumate route. Her bloods came back normal. She is on Frisky mare at the moment but tbh it does not seem to have any effect, I will try Oestress as well but just wondering if anyone out there had the same experience and could recommend any supplements that actually do work!!! I am at my wits end with her behaviour and just want my girl back..

Thanks in advance :)

Our pony has just been diagnosed with hind gut and stomach ulcers! She is a real stress head but a very good doer and not a typical ulcer candidate! So glad, I asked vet to do blood test! She is now on the supplement - succeed. Ours also reacts to clover - check out Calm, healthy, horses website!

Hi I have a very moody mare and use Slut Mix by Herbalwise - its fantastic stuff

Hi I've found none of the herbal supplements work . My mare is still coming into season and I've put her back onto her Regumate, and pray for cold weather. If you go down the Regumate route the porcine one is half the price half the dose and much easier to administer as the can delivers the exact dose needed.

Elimination of problems here, mine was the same ended up thinking it was hormonal and had her on regumate, she did not improve at all, had her ovaries scanned and internal check up all was fine!! this horse was fat shine and picture of health she had ulcers, glandular ones the worst of all, well worth checking everything!!! another horse i had also was very very mareish leaped in the air had no concentration at all sent her to a top pro show jumper whom couldn't get her right, she ended up been magnesium deficient!!!! she had equistro betamax 12 and my god it was ridable you would never of believed it was the same horse even when she was in season!!!!!! well worth looking into everything. wish you all the best of luck xxx
