So mare was teased and inseminated fresh 16/4 , same again 18/4 then scanned and ovulated. Fast forward to now mare raging in season took her back to stud this morning and teased and properly in season! Vets are scanning tomorrow to check what’s going on.
So why do we think the reason for the short cycle? My first thought was infection? But AI tech at stud said no real obvious signs of that ( will see more on scan) or that we’re still fairly early on in season and weather is quite changeable.
After ovulation I would expect to see nothing in terms of season before at least 14 days but we are way before that!
