Hi, havent ventured in here much before but really could do with some help.
I rehomed a bitch this week (mastiff type 17months old.)
The people I rehomed her from told me she had her last season at the end of november, now I have been always been told bitches have seasons every 6 or so months, spoke to the vets and booked her in to be spayed at the end of feb as this was the best time.
Anyway today I have noticed she has started bleeding!
So only 2months after her last season..
I have an entire 3yr old male, but surley he wouldnt have been able to encourage her to come in 4months early?
Has anyone ever had experience of a bitch having seasons so close?

I'd double check her, swab her with a piece of tissue, find out if she's definitely in season. The male isn't likely to bring her in, it's usually bitches that bring each other in with hormones.

Is the previous owner 100% that it was November? It is usually 6months.

Just keep her separate from your male whilst she's in season and I'd perhaps give your vet a ring just in case there could be something causing it. Not saying there is anything to worry about but personally I'd want to rule everything out.

I've not known them to come in that close, ours usually go further in between than they should

Thanks echodomino,
That is exactly what I was thinking, shes definatly bleeding and the people are certain her last season was in november.
I think a quick visit to the vet tomorrow is in order just to eveythings as it should be.

Unusual, unless she was brewing a pyo, they can typically bleed, pass discharge, lick the vulva, drink excessivly sometimes go off food, and this can commonly occur 2 months after a season (infact thi is when it predominantly occurs) which would be spot on timing for her.
Or they where fibbing and her season was not Nov and is now  so obs u will not be able to have her spayed for atleast 9 weeks after her season, in the meantime u will have to be extra vigilant with the 2, going to lengths as to keep them apart, bitch spray for her, chemical castration for him to try and lessen the interest, bitch pants for her to act as a chastity belt:D, are all the deterrants we have discussed on here in the past, but obs keeping them apart would be a good start.:D
Let us know what the vet suggests is going on.

Thanks everyone,
Spoke to the vets this morning and they have also said its unusaul but does happen, the dogs are now seperated and am planning a doggie holiday for him at a friends as I think it will be less stressfull for him and 100% prevent any accidents :D
