I'm taking my sighthounds to Wales next month.

They usually travel in the boot, but instead I'm going to travel them on the backseat and put our luggage in the boot.

There seem to be an array of different options. Some that go over the headrest. Some that clip into the seat belts. Some have bungey.

Can anyone please recommend?

We use a bungey that clips from her harness into the seat belt in the motorhome, but she is on a rear facing bench seat. She can move around a bit and change position, but is safe.

You’d have to be sure that there’s not so much give in the bungey that the dog would fly into the back of the front seats in the event of a crash 😬.

My sister travels her dog in a hammock type thing, it hooks over the front headrest and the rear headrest, but sits on the back seat, not suspended, then I think she is clipped to a seatbelt

When I travelled mine on the backseat I started with a basic one, but she had a bit too much freedom and also sometimes stood on the seatbelt release button and set herself free. I swapped to the Kong ultimate safety tether and found it much better. Aside from being safer, the dog who hadn’t been a great traveller, seemed a lot less anxious. I had thought she might object to being more restricted but it seemed to give her confidence. Being fixed higher she was less likely to get tangled up too. I think the over the headrest ones would do a similar job.
