ok,

So i gave my Sec D a chaser (high neck and belly clip in january) and its still not even really showing signs of returning!!!!

He is a dark liver chestnut and in winter almost black but his clip is a funny sage brown colour!

thing is i was wanting to sell him, and was hacking him lightly so he didnt need the big clip but now ive decided to keep him and want to start showing him in the next month or so......

so do i hope that the current clip will grow out asap or do i skill fully fully clip and blend his legs in?

also his current area that he has been clipped on areas where my 2yr old bite have grown back dark chestnut so that dosnt look right now either!

and this morning is the only chance i will get to fully clip!

last weeks pic with my hubby on him (sorry taken off bad camera phone)

My boys the same!
He is moulting but the clipped area doesnt seem to be doing anything. This does happen every year but by May its normall pretty much one colour. My horse is black but the clipped area is brown at the mo.

No do not clip! As you want to show they will penalise you for the clip no matter how well you blend the legs in it will still show. G still has clip lines but not too bad now.

Personally I wouldn't clip a horse again after the beginning of February. It messes with their coat growth!! Or so I've been told:D

I gave mine a hunter clip middle of march because he takes soo long to loose it otherwise and gets very hot then. He has just (this week) started shedding like mad! though his leg lines will hang around for a bit longer.

I dont think I would take it off now if you want to show, I dont think you are going to get a great summer coat then.

My NF has the same clip and he was done in November and is still two tone - he is going to herts county at the end of May so hope he will be fully moulted by then - on a practical note as well he is also too hot with all his remaining hair.
