today I went on hack 2 with my youngster. AMAZING. He was a supertrooper. Got a bit scared of a big icey puddle at one point when we started off so I got off and walked him through it. The next one we came to he walked though with a bit of leg and encouragement (I refused to dismount a second time!). I can't believe how well he is going. I don't understand it. Surely it can't be this great so early on?!

Here's a pic of him after he got back. He was so tired bless him. Its the first time any of us have seen him lie down in his stable. Sorry its dark but I decided to turn the lights off to let him rest

aww bless him.I don't know how old your youngster is but I guess presuming it was just a short hack you did that he was mentally exhausted lol.He looks such a sweetheart and I love his cami rug!

He seems to be very cool and calm when he's out. He's a little bugger in his own surroundings and when you put him in the school he goes bizerk. Strange

Mine is exactly the same! Won't be 5 until May but totally chilled on a hack and with traffic, dogs, plastic bags etc. But break a carrot and he jumps through the roof or worse still try and put a stranger on him!!

Ronnie's 4.5yrs at the moment and is EXACTLY the same.
Those big tractors out hacking won't get him but those carrots, woah, they really do make the most terrifying noise!
