this may not be something you would consider, but i was in the same predicament as you, and my choice came down to a 2nd hand leather saddle at £450, or a brand new Thorowgood for £300. i figured that, as a newbie to dressage, the synthetic may be the way to go; if, in several years time, i am nice and rich and of a half decent standard, i may be able to buy myself a nice new leather one!!!

i love my thorowgood; im a real convert, having always previously scorned the synthetics!

Mmm, thanks for that, not really into synthetic saddles. The saddle I do get has to last and he won't change body wise very much, so a leather one is most definately what i'm after.

But thank you for that, all advice welcome

Try as many as possible to be honest!! I had got into my head what i wanted as had loved the type on another horse, but put it on my horse and hated it!! Ive got an Albion, but one of the older ones with smaller blocks than the newer ones. Albion, Jaguar, Ideal Amerigo and of course Devoucoux and Butet are always sought after nad easy to sell on.... KN's are nice too

We are about an hour away from Wychanger Barton, that may be the best place to go. Thanks guys. I know what I like, it's whether it's available
