I need to buy a new rug for my mare... Her first rug :O Anyway I don't want to spend much as I don't know if she's had a rug on before, and might wreck it. It just needs to be a moderate weight and waterproof.

She's been out all winter without one but with the news of -12C coming sometime, I thought I better find one soon. Anyone else heard of this weather change? Longterm forecast?

She's deep and broad and is out 24/7 so the rug needs to be roomy in the shoulders. Is a particular make better for this?

Any help greatly apreciated, thanks guys

Oh and where would be the best place to ask a 'How much? ' question, for selling a pony, I really have no clue how much he is worth, but I don't want to bug people by asking on here?

go for anything horseware. I found horseware rambo's quite broad and roomy...and they don't leak!! Ebay is fab for 2nd hand rugs, but watch for postage and also, if they don't fit you can't take them back.

Sometimes you can!! Depends if the item has been advertised correctly!!

Thanks, have just had a good look on ebay. Will keep an eye on it. By the way she needs a 6'3 if anyone has one to sell.

What about the 'how much?'....post on here?, can I pm someone?, I need to advertise soon but don't know how much to ask....

And does anyone have any experiences with masta rugs, theres a nice one on ebay though a bit pricy if she ruins it.

Thanks,

EC

id also second ebay for rugs, the problem that i have found for my 6'3 neddy, everyone else is after that size too so prices can get a bit higher for that size
good luck in your search!

I would say ebay too, or equestrian clearance often have some good bargains..If shes never had a rug before it might be worth using a lightweight one for a while, I dont think anyone will mind if you post how much on here! -12 blimey ive not heard that! where in the country is that gonna be?

I don't know, something on the radio said that in february there will be cold snap, temps down to -12 it was a local radio, I've looked but can't seem to find any solid info, but I'm not taking chances, I have to get the foal weaned and only have one stable, so the three of them can't all come in, I'm just hoping it's one of those long term forecasts that doesn't come true.

Thanks for your help, I think I will post a how much, I feel like being the annoying question asker today
