Hi,

Due to money problems I've decided to sell off some of my bits which I no longer need/use! I have about 6 rugs which haven't seen the light of day for a couple of years so going to put up an advert to sell them.

How much would you expect to pay for second hand M/W turnout, stable rugs, fleeces? They have all been professionally washed and bagged before storage, in good condition etc.

By the way this is not an advert!!! I am just trying to get an idea of how much to ask for them

They aren't the best names such as rambo, fal etc.

They are all 6'0 and are masta, weatherbeeta, amigo rugs

I'd think that they'd sell really well on Ebay.

I sold some (Weatherbeeta and Masta rugs) a few months ago and was averaging at about £40 a turnout, £30 for a stable rug and £15 for a fleece.

However, a lot depends on the model of rug and what colour it is, I've found.

I'd also recommend ebay for selling them, I've sold on a few second hand and made quite a lot of money back on them - they weren't "fancy" brands, but people are always after them (especially the weatherbeetas!) and ebay seems very popular. I started them at low-ish prices, and they were always bidded up! Agree that looking on there & possibly preloved at similar rugs may help you decide pricing x

Thanks everyone!! I have had a look on ebay.. what puts me off about ebay is how expensive postage is. Those of you who do ebay do you do buyer picks up or do you post?

^ I've always posted mine, one lady collected as she was local. I've found that buyers don't really seem to mind paying the highish postage as it's not really far off what you'd expect from an online horse shop's delivery charge & you're saving money on the actual rug :)

eBay is good i always look at the rugs on there.

I also look on Preloved. And Facebook. British Dressage site also has a good classifieds but thats more designer/named stuff.

Just be careful with eBay - i found Paypal very expensive. I sold two Masta rugs for £40 p&p £5. Well postage was nearer £8 and then eBay charge of £3 and then Paypal took £5. So at the end of it they didnt sell for much at all.
