I cannot get on with the Albion Ultima GP saddle that I bought 2 months ago and am going to put it on eBay. It was £1550 new and I have no idea what to ask for it. They don't seem to be selling for very much.

I bought my albion selecta saddle second hand from a little tack sale for the rather awesome price of £350 but have seen them go for more on ebay so think I got myself a bit of a bargain. It's such a hard one, is there a local saddler who sells second hand and could offer advice on the valve or even sell it for you?

You could try contacting saddles direct, they will value saddles for you and you can sell them through their website too.

.........which is why I NEVER, ever buy new saddles! I have bought some beautiful Albion saddles (I really like them), for under £300; hardly even used, some of them. Resale values are shocking (thank goodness :-).

Can you not PX it for a new one from your saddler if you are going to replace it?

If not Saddles Direct are good and you would get more than from Ebay (unless somebody is desperately looking for exactly what you have). I'm hanging on to my Albion dressage as really hoping new boy will grow into it as he muscles up!

Try saddles direct. They just gave me a price for my albion but refused to take it in because they r over stocked with medium sized saddles apparently. U prob won't get much on eBay. Have u contacted ur saddler and asked what trade in price they'd give u ?

I'm going to get a trade in price. Contacted the saddler who fitted it originally, but apart from a text back to ask what the problem is I haven't heard back . I've also contacted Albion to ask what I should ask for it and they have been in contact to ask what the problem is. But it's not a problem with the saddle, it just doesn't fit my horse. It would fit a horse without big muscular shoulders fine.

Will try Saddles Direct.

I wouldn't bother with eBay tbh..

Iv tried many a time to sell saddles worth the £1000 mark and they just don't sell unless there a bargin... (By bargin I mean will only sell if there ridiculously cheap).

I know, but I've had it 3 months. Kept getting told what a wonderful saddle it was and assumed I'd lost the ability to ride after my accident. I did text the fitter to see if she would buy it back, but didn't hear back after i told her what the problem was and that I was buying a different make. Well fitted on a normal shaped horse I'm sure someone will get a bargain, but there's too much at the front for a Friesian.
