I wasn't going to keep updating on my lessons, but with the disaster of the first timeout this year, i thought i'd post a small report about how Di has managed to inspire me!
So, i talked to Di about what happened at Solihull and got to warming up, we did quite alot on the flat first... concentrating on the canter and trying to keep Fee straight. Di then put up a small cross and i came to it twice, on the second attempt she put the brakes on and i almost came off!!
It turns out im still not riding enough, that and the fact that my mare was taking the p*ss out of me!! It also made me a little annoyed, because she literally could of stepped over it (for those of you that are thinking there is something wrong, there isn't.... we've had all the checks done and she is very well). Getting a bit angry seemed to work, because i was determined not to come off/have another stop. Di had me really riding up to the contact and using my legs, whilst it was very tireing, the resulting jump was just amazing!!
By the end of the lesson we were jumping no probs around a course of 10 jumps or so....
I'm so pleased today went how it did. Although i didnt want Fee to stop, it helped Di see what was going on and give me advice on how to go from here. I'm out at addington on tues to jump another disco (or try
) and i'm determined to use my legs this time!!
