movement of all livestock IS banned - but horses are NOT livestock as they have not got cloven hooves

horse movements are ok so long as your yard has no livestock on it and the place you are going to has not got livestock

also no movement of dung or manure
no movement of dead stock that have died for any reason - e.g. flystrike or whatever - the dead carcass will just have to remain where it lies

So can we presume that the government have not lifted the ban on 'on farm' burials then?

Here we go again....cattle and sheep dumped in the local lay bys.

defra have ordered 300,000 doses of vaccine for f&m from

........Merial !!!!!

at least they've ordered the vaccine - let's hope they are prepared to use it and not just spend public money on buying it and storing it

there are only approx. 3000 livestock on 75 farms inside the protection zone(source www.warmwell.com)

those animals could all be vaccinated inside 24 hours instead of murdering them

*makes you want to bang your head on something doesnt it*

I actually found myself laughing like a drain earlier.

Having heard all the reports on the news about how the virus has (probably) escaped from a biosecure unit, the carcasses from Surrey have been transported 'in a secure, sheeted down, container' to Frome....an equally biosecure unit....with a DEFRA official, in his car, following the lorry all the way down here to 'make sure nothing was leaking out'.

What more can one say!!!!

and looking at the map of the area - the so-called 'flood' reason for the virus getting from pirbright to the outbreak site .........

would require water to run uphill as the site at wonford is 35ft higher above sea level then pirbright...

spin lies spin lies spin lies and spin

however the last incompetent defra mandarin ended up being foreign secretary so it's odds-on that H. Benn will be a future labour party leader now
