I know nothing about showing, but i have a nice little section D that is a lovely mover and carries herself in the kind of naturel outline that many take years under saddle to achieve.
She is 3, what are my showing options both now and in the future?

Frineds have said she's make a nice little working hunter, is this typical of section D's?

Thanks :D

If she is 3 this year there are usually plenty of in hand classes for youngsters at most local shows, M&M are held at nearly every show.

In the future ridden M&M or working classes they are usually divided by height or breed depending on the show and will have no age restriction on the rider.
You describe her as a little sec D so she could possibly do WHP classes as would probably be small in a horse class.
Other options are family pony,PC pony, RC horse or one of the many variations that shows have.

Thanks, she's barely 14 hands so is that small enough for WHP classes? And is that working hunter pony??

We have a local show coming up, I will see what we can enter into for in hand classes :)

At 14 hands she would be best in pony classes, yes WHP is working hunter pony, a junior rider may need to ride though depending on the rules of each show, they vary a lot.
Have a go in hand, its good for the education as it gets them out and about, used to standing around and possibly a frilly or two on the cv, have fun:)

I wouldnt bother trying working hunter pony classes as they're all plaited. There's usually M&M WH classes so do those instead. Although its harder when they're young / just starting out as for a Welsh D, M&M classes are normally about 2'9 / 3ft I think so too big to go straight into with a youngster. Go to local unaffiliated shows first where you'll get "green" working hunter etc.
