Security/fire alarm systems you can monitor from home?

Evening all.

Interested in remote systems - i.e. if there was a fire at our yard, an alarm would go off in OUR house to tell us (we're about 5min drive away).

Also interested in remote alarm systems - I believe you can attach sensors to the box doors? Or likewise, CCTV systems.

Also, anyone else think its awful advice to recommend that horse owners padlock their horses in to their boxes at night? Secure maybe, but we'd rather our horses were stolen than burned to death in a fire!
 
Horses at our yard are padlocked in, and I personally hate it. But what they've started doing now, is putting the padlocks on, so they look locked, but are still easily opened.
