I need to sedate my horse for the dentist.
i need some advice
which method is best ? and how much do I need to use he's a 16.2 warmblood
ACP or sedolin
getting the vet to sedate him is not really an option as its so expensive.
I really only need to take edge of him he isn't that bad but he wont stand still for the dentist which makes life difficult for everyone involved.

You'll have to speak to the vet anyway, as I think ACP/sedalin are only available from them. I know it's expensive but really a vet should have a look at him before he's sedated to check his heart out etc and advise you on dosage.

I use Sedalin on my 16.3hh IDxTB when he has to have his jabs (big wuss that he is!) I've found it to be really good for this. I call my vet up in advance to get a tube sent out and then they call to say when they are coming and what dose to give him. It does take a little while to kick in.

ACP is the drug in sedalin.

If the vets have seen him recently you should be able to get it over the phone. If not they will probably want to see him. I seem to always be seeing the vets and they give it to me regularly.....*rolls eyes*

There is a comprehensive dosage scale inside the box, but it does require a bit of playing about with to get the perfect dose.
