As my lad was a nightmare to clip last time I decided to make the whole situaion less stressful for him by having him sedated. The vet took 4 attempts to get the needle in and I am not convinced she gave him enough, as he was alert again within 1/2 hr. He did drop his head and neck initially so that I could do his neck and face, but was very twitchy again for me to finish the clip. Could this be because he was resisting the sedation, or just not sedated enough?
Could anyone else advise me on how their horses react to sedation and for how long they are 'under'?
Thanks in advance!
