I usually get the vet to do my horses teeth and he sedates her as she can be a bit funny with her mouth but friends have a very good dentist coming to the yard and id like her to do mine too, if i get the vet out to sedate her it will cost a bomb and they will want to know why they are not doing it. So I was thinking she has such a tiny amount of iv sedation and acp has helped before if i gave her the majority of a tube of sedalin and ensured she was chilled could it work?

Thanks

Yes I would try a bit of sedalin. The difficult horses at our yard are given that before the Dentist, and they are quiet as a lamb afterwards.

If the horse has a very deep seated and irrational fear, sedalin wont work though. I once saw a horse who was petrified of Clippers given Sedalin and he fought it. A whole tube was given to him in the end, and the horse went into a cold shivery sweat. Not nice to see.
