Seed hay...too much?

My latest hay delivery is seed hay, I had meadow hay before and not sure why seed hay has been delivered this time. Fed it without thinking too much of it. And I don't know if it's just the time of year, horses in, being fed, clipped and warm, stabled overnight, turnout with grass all day but my boy is more alert...but in a bad way. When he has excess energy he doesn't channel it into work but spooking and looking at things!
An example, a yellow bucket he walks past each day to be turned out, is now a monster that he arches his neck and snorts at! Never mind ridden, he has eyes on stalks and canter was rather forward the other night.
Don't want to cut back feed as it has his vitamins in it, would soaking the hay help? Or should I buy some normal, meadow hay and mix the seed hay with this till it is all gone, as it is good quality, very little dust but too much.
Or...am I reading it wrong? Does seed hay not make a difference to horse? And it's actually something else making him hot? ::confused:
Thank you

I believe seed hay has a slightly higher nutritional value than Meadow hay.

I think that is something of an understatement! Seed hay is the first cut off a newly seeded field and likely to have had all the benefits of extra fertiliser as well as more nutritious grass species.

Would your feed merchant not do a swap? I Imagine they would want paid for the extra work though. Or maybe they have a customer who would take your hay and you could buy meadow hay?

Yes it was on reflection but I was hoping that the OP would actually look at the difference between the two and realise that.

Thank you for your help, I have found someone to buy my bales as after further research realised what Dry Rot explained, as I said, didn't ask for seed hay, knew it looked, smelt, felt different but always had meadow hay so didn't know if was seed hay straight away. We all learn constantly!
