Hiya,

I am having a hell of a time with my horses getting ticks from the fell. They wear fly sheets, boots and full face masks, however i presume the ticks crawl up the body as theyre poor faces and legs are a mess (Good job i dont show them).

I know you can get something for sheep that makes the ticks die when they bite them, however is there anything for horses? I smother them in vaseline to kill them and ive just bought a tick remover as theyre so small i can't remove them in any other way.

The bites they make are awful!! They come up in a big welt then have a scabby/oozing bit the next day.

Does anyone know of any good remedies/stockists/brands etc etc to help?

Thanks
Sam

I've tried everything, garlic in feed, oils etc, and there is nothing I can do, other than just keep checking over them. Strangely only my fine thoroughbreds tend to pick them up.
