Does my horse look a little 'sucked in' at the pelvis/flank area. I think she is but I don't know if I'm just being paranoid. She is happy & healthy in every other way. Just not sure if it's weight loss cos of the rubbish grass, change in muscle or just her changing shape as she matures - will be 9 on Saturday.
Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions?
Sorry bout the dodgy gigantic photos lol!
Thanks guys xx

Personally, I think she looks well!! I think she has a long back which could possibly make her look 'sucked in'....

she looks fine to me, just looks fit. what sort of work does she do? if she is happy and willing to work as normal i wouldnt worry, if we get some rain and the grass gets going you will prob find she puts a bit of weight on and then you will have the opposite problem.. its never easy keeping them exactly the weight we would like, mine is too well covered but have just had to retire her so not sure what im going to do especially as we have just had rain!!!!::confused::confused:

Yeah she does have a very long back.
These photos actually make her look quite good lol!!
You can see it in photos 3 & 5 that she is a bit 'hippy'

No? Just me?

Just that she's never looked like this up until now, it's the fact that she looks different to normal that I'm worried about.

She doesn't do any particularly hard work. We get a dressage/flatwork lessong once fortnightly, schooling once or twice a week and then mostly just hacking with the odd fun mucking about (i.e attempting to jump or visit to the beach) session thrown in. I try (weather permitting) to rise about 4 times a week, 5 on a good week.

She has had problems with her teeth this year and has had 2 lot of diastema treatment and is going for a third on 5th August. But vet has seen her since the last treatment and was happy with her progress so I don't think it's that anymore. Plus, she was fine up until about May and has slowly got more 'hippy' since then.
