Hi ,
This is my first time being insured with SEIB so I don't know their claims process.
Does anyone know if I need to contact them first to authorise treatment (considering scoping /treating for ulcers) or do I just go ahead and then the vet sends the bills to them (this is how we always did it with NFU).

Thanks for any advice!

I am with them and just been claiming. I just rang and said we are questioning ulcers, he is going in to be scoped on x date and could I have a claim form. They will not agree to pay until after they have recieved a completed form. But this is the same for any company. I have 3 separate claims and have been impressed with how quickly they have paid out. I left claim form with vet and they filled in their part and sent the bill so far and seib sent payment to vets.

Thanks it sounds like the same process as with NFU then. Sounds like they haven't quibbled on your claim either?
Hopefully they won't with mine , I always found it nerve wracking waiting to hear if they'd try and use some small print for not paying.
I don't see why they should quibble as I've had the horse insured since Aug when I bought him.

The only very minor point is they classed the lameness starting 1st sept. Vet was out then as he had lost weight and not quite right and had noted he had 2 scabs on back legs. It probably was the start of the issues but I had started the claim in October when he was first lame. I had paid the sept bill so works out I’m in credit.
