Anyone a member or know of Selby Riding Club?
I am new to owning my own horse (well sharing really but almost) and would like to be able to do some RC activities but don't know what sort of thing goes on. Is it very clique-y? Friendly? Can even numpties like me join and go to the little shows/lessons or will I look a plonker?
The application form on the internet says it needs to be signed by someone who proposed you and then seconded, who would I get to do that if I don't know anyone in the club?!?! It's very confusing!

I am a member - I'll PM you.

It isn't cliquey at all and there are members at all levels. I don't go to a lot as I do more bsja but I have stewarded at a few events & met some lovely people. You will not look a plonker

Hello East/North (?) yorkshire personages!

Are these the guys/club that did the shows at Mill Lane...if so they used to be really nice friendly local shows.

What sort of things do they do? Are there proper shows, with ridden & in hand showing, showjumping, etc? Do they have weekly sessions on specialist things, like jumping, dressage, etc? Or lectures/talks? Do you have to pay extra for the sessions/show entry fees?
Sorry for been a bit dim, but it's all so new and frightening!

They do all things. Monthly showing shows with working hunter and showing classes plus dressage (& dressage to music) plus some fun SJ. They also do clinics as well. You pay for the shows but get a discount for being a member.

Kenzo - yes, we are the Mill lane lot
