self guided riding holiday Exmmoor

I am hoping to ride with 3 friends on Exmoor from B&B to B&B this summer with our luggage transported and maps/route provided, difficult to find anywhere does anyone know of anything in that area or anything similar in south west ?

We took our horses to stay at Riscombe Farm on Exmoor, we took our own maps and the lady showed us where to go each day, so in effect we did a one-centre riding holiday.

Many years ago there was a company that organised riding holidays for you to take your own horse. They provided maps, stabling etc, all over the UK. Thing is I can't remember what they were called or if they are even still going.

It was great fun!

Try contacting some of the places on here, click the stabling list, it looks as if there are a few that could suit but you may need to do some work to get a route that suits you.

Try Bed and Breakfast for Horse and Riders published by the BHS.
We used to stay and keep our horses at The Crown Hotel in Exford. They had stables and grazing.

Also contact the local Endurance Group as the Golden Horseshoe ride is held each year on Exmoor and they will be able to give you details of loads of places were you can stay with your horses.
