Just rode my new horse out in the woods for the first time and he was perfect!! Last night I rode him in the school for the first time since he arrived last Thursday - he'd started to get a little cheeky on the ground and I wanted to remind him that he does have a job to do other than eating and flirting with the sexy mare opposite
He was testing the boundaries a bit to start with then settled and did some nice work for 20 mins or so.
Then tonight I thought I'd try him out round the woods, just a walk as his shoes aren't in a great state. I wasn't sure how he'd be on his own in a strange place (he's just turned 5 and was broken in late last year), but he was perfect! Very enthusiastic, ears pricked the whole way. We saw a couple of other horses (cue a flirty piaffe
), 4 bikes, wheelie bins, building site and tarpaulins and he didn't bat an eyelid. He seemed very disappointed to turn round and go home!
I think I'm in love!
