Self Service Laundrette

Does anybody use a normal self service laundrette to wash their horse stuff? More for the fact that the washing machine's and dyers are bigger for rugs

I say self service as for some reason i'm under the impression a laundrette would frown upon me rocking up with rugs caked in mud and smelling slightly grim!

I am hoping to buy a commercial washing machine for my garage next year so I can just do my own whenever they need it, but in the interim was musing about using a laundrette.

Yes. And yes you need to go to an umanned one or they tell you to bu**er off!

I do know someone who told me they do this but put them in an old duvet cover so no one can tell what they are washing.

Would I do it? - No. I don't feel it is very considerate of other launderette users. Once had to use a launderette for 3 weeks whilst waiting for a spare part for my washing machine and would not have been happy if all our clothes, bedding etc had come out from machine covered in horse hair. Sorry OP.

Sorry, forgot to put that I have one of those wash bag things that captures a lot of the hair (won't say it catches all as I don't see how it can but i've used it for saddlepads at home and seemed ok).

I asked at my local launderette and they washed them for me but charged me for an extra wash to clean the machine at the end.
