Well thought I had found the perfect horse - a gorgeous big grey ID..... Owner has now decided she doesn't want to sell.

So back to square one with a very big grey benchmark in my head.

Think I may just carry on loaning my connie as nothing on any of the sale websites grabs me.

Has anyone else been let down only to find their perfect neddie?

Ive been looking for 6 months for a horse, only to be let down by sellers, but dont give up just seen one today which is suitable, so subject to vetting he will be mine. I cant get too excited as its taken me so long to find him and Ive had so many disappointments along the way. Hope you find something

It's a shame.

But at the end of the day, it's her horse, and she may have decided she just can't bear to part with it. Feel for her from the other side!

Oh no I do! I just feel sad as he isn't really getting ridden. Mind you he is well cared for and loved - horses don't have any aspirations I suppose! Hope alls well with Bean?

Hi, I know how you feel. I am in the same situation. One sold the day I was due to go and see it, another turned out to be not so 'perfect'. Another horse I was interested in got sold, despite us having a verbal agreement. Found out later that the horse was lame and the buyer has been ripped off. Another was not suitable for novice, despite being told it was, one decided not to sell afterall. The list goes on.... I have learnt that the process of finding the right horse is both emotional and frustrating. BUT you have to believe that things happen for a reason. The right one will be out there for you and it won't go to anyone else or off the market or anything silly like that, because it will be meant for you. That's what I'm telling myself anyway. Be patient and take a break from looking if your getting too frustrated. These things have a habit of working themselves out and the right horse will probably come along when you are not looking for it!
Hope it all works out

And heres me thinking it was usually the buyers who were timewasters. Why would someone put a horse up for sale and then back out?Did she give you a reason at least.

Well for me - i had so many idiots come and try mine i decided i couldnt put him through anymore mouth jabbing, pony club kicking and complete misses to big fences - the horses is a saint and kept jumping for them but i was worried about him getting crashed by a customer who then leaves me with a wrecked horse to sell.

I have never seen such bad riding - and these were people that all classed themselves as 'experienced'

When I was looking for my current horse I had been to see one, arranged to buy it. I had offered a deposit but the seller had not wanted one. I didn't have transport at the time so had arranged to hire a lorry to collect him. On the way to pick up the lorry on the morning of collection the owner texted me to say she had decided not to sell him! As you can imagine I was not pleased, floods of tears etc. A wekk later I went to see my current horse and he has been with me for 4 years now and will be staying for ever - he was also much better than the original one. It is really hard but I bet when you do find another one you will think it is better than the 'one that got away'.

I thought that was going to happen, but the owner came to visit us, see were the horse would live and meet our other neds and was reasured.

My daughters 1st pony fell through because the girl who owned him got too upset, she wasnt getting on too well with her new bigger pony. A couple of months later I got a call out of the blue. The girl had been getting on better with the new pony and had decided to let go!

I would be inclined to say to the owner who pulled out that if she should change her mind to give you a ring. Failing that just keep looking. The riht one will come along eventualy.
