Selling a section b at this time of year

Well, I'm not having much luck, which I'm not surprised about. He's a show pony for starters, he's only part broken too, and he is a hairy mammoth.
I've got him advertised for £600 offers invited , because I am willing to negotiate for the right home, is that far too high? I personally thought it was right, as he's a quality show pony & really unusually coloured.
He really needs to go off and start his education, as he is bored sitting in the field due to my loss of small person!
I would happily have him there over the winter, but he hates it!
Anyone else having similar problems?
On the other hand, my mare that was up for loan/share I get an enquiry about every day!

I am really considering sending him to a reputable dealer to move him on, are there any that specialise in show ponies?

Have you tried Horse Gossip? It's free and probably the right kind of market if he has good conformation and breeding.

Yes have tried there, everyone seems to be looking for produced things.

I know a local Sec B breeder who has had to reduce her stock due to totally bare fields and she has had to give them away. OK they might have been brood mares or youngstock but I know they are also exceedingly well bred and winners.

The trouble with B's is that the market has dropped away from them and IMO its part to do with breeders flooding the market with young stock that can be bought for £100.

Show stock or not is irrelevant if there are no winnings / placings of note. Showing people want to see its success and a non showhome doesn't care if its showstock.

In my area you would really struggle to get £600 for an unbacked Sec B tbh.
