Hi has anyone ever had to sell a stroppy mare (she is a chestnut as well) I have persevered with her for 2 years but am now too afraid to ride and handle her. She is not dangerous (no rearing or bucking) just too much for me as a novice rider. Anyone have any advice?? Thanks

If you have totaly lost confidence with her, then you may be best to send her for some re-schooling and groundwork and have someone more experienced sell her for you, as i think this would give her the best chance of finding her a suitable new home. Ask around in your local comunity for an honest trainer/dealer.

Well done for facing up to your problems, it cant have been an easy decision to come to. Good luck with selling her.

thanks it is a really hard decision to make but I have to be realistic! I'm sure there is a horse out there for me somewhere just need to sort the mare out first!

Yes, i agree i'm sure the right horse for you is out there. You are certainly not the first and won't be the last person to be mis-matched to their horse, some people just are not very good at facing up to things like that. Again good luck with finding the right home for her and the perfect new horse for you.

Well done for admitting that you're not suited to one another. I totally agree with the advice to have a pro help sell her. Someone who can handle and ride her to the best of her ability stands a much better chance of finding her a suitable home. Good luck :)
