I have a very nice KN Symphonie Dressage Saddle that I need to sell. I am struggling to find a box big enough and sturdy enough to ship it in.

I mean I haven't sold it yet - but anyone got any suggestions as to where to get a decent box ?

I sold a saddle recently and i was lucky in that i have recently purchased a new saddle and that came to me in a box so i was able to use that- but i know what you mean though as it's not easy finding boxes big and sturdy enough!- In the past i have got boxes to ship saddles in from a cash and carry- may be worth a try if you have one near you- or ask your local saddlers for one as their saddles would be shipped to them in big boxes!

I always use loads and loads of parcel tape to strengthen the box a bit too!

Good luck with selling your saddle- hope you manage to get a box!

Go to the local amenity centre [the dump], cardboard is often kept separate container, also ask nicely at morrisons, their boxes may be big but not strong, so you can get a roll of packaging tape to re-enforce the a parcel. The PO will take it, else look on ebay for parcels 4 you or some such company

Your vet practice will have suitable boxes, ask whoever does the drug ordering to save you one. Also your local feed merchant is likely to have a suitable box.

Do you have a retail park near you? When I moved house last time, I popped down there, asked in one of the shops and they allowed me to drive round the back to rummage through their carboard containers :o But you can sort through them and find a good one. Then as above, reinforce with strong tape.

:)

Try your tack shop,if they sell saddles they will have boxes that are strong enough to do the job. My local shop has saved them for me when I've needed one.
