Selling Horse - How Much?

Hi! Just wanted some advice on how much to sell my Gelding for.

He is 9yrs, about 16hh IDxTB, but looks more Irish.

Typical Irish type - safe as houses, good for Hacking, XC and Hunting - Hunted last winter and as a 4yr old and he will jump anything, very footsure and always gets you out of trouble!

Can be a bit nappy hacking on own, but perfect gent in company.

Hates schooling/dressage, but will do a good test for the odd ODE.

Have done nothing with him all summer, so he is fat and unfit at moment.

What do you recon would be a fair price?

I think a lot of the time it can depend on where you are located. A horse say in Cambridgeshire would sell for more than say a horse in Wales. If he is really unfit would you think he was capable of passing a 5 stage vetting?

Being as you have said he wont hack alone and doesn't like to be schooled it also shuts the doors on many people that want a safe hack and to do riding club activities unless they want to jump mainly. TBH I have a friend that would love something that hunts and jumps but also would need to school in winter due to the light issue and also might need to hack alone. How bad is he really to school - what does he do? also what is the napping like with he hacks alone??

In Essex, he lives out 24/7 in a very hilly field and keeps himself fairly fit - I can go out for a hack - with a bit of trot and canter for an hour and he wouldn't have a problem, so should be fine to vet - just not competition/hunting fit!

He does school very nicely - done trailblazers finals etc. but he just doesn't enjoy it and I want him to go to a home where he will be happy.

Naps when leaving the yard, then fine when out of sight. I ride out on my own with him mostly, but it does take a few clouts to get him to leave - just trying to be honest about him to judge a fair price. He wouldn't suit a novice as he would walk all over them, but is safe as houses and would make someone a great hunter/xc horse.
