Hello

Just wondered if anyone can advise me on where I can find a trial agreement for when the potential buyer takes my horse on trial? Also in NL

thanks

Please please make sure they have insurance and get them to show you. If not make sure you check with your own insurance companies small print. Make sure you cover your back so to speak. Accidents do happen as we all know to well with horses.

I only say this as a friend had a horse on trail loan with a view to buy and to cut a long story short horse had died and turned out not insured by anyone. My friend ended up having to pay the owner for the horse even though it was now no more. Very sad but lesson learnt.

ooo thanks.....he is fully insured, will have a look, but presumably he would be covered as long as I have given my permission for them to have him?

Worth double checking with your insurance company. If he is going to move yards. Insurance companies can be funny about some things. Good luck hope it works out.

I'VE JUST BOUGHT A HORSE I HAD ON TRIAL. MY INSURANCE COMPANY WOULDN'T GIVE ME INSURANCE UNLESS A VETTING WAS DONE (WHICH I WASN'T GOING TO DO UNTIL I'D DECIDED I WANTED HIM AND IF I HAD VETTED THEN, THE CERTIFICATE WOULDN'T HAVE COVERED HIM 3 MONTHS LATER ONCE AGREEMENT HAD ENDED AND I WOULD HAVE HAD TO HAVE HIM VETTED AGAIN FOR INSURANCE!!)

SO OWNER CONTACTED THEIR INSURANCE COMPANY AND IT WAS FINE. AS LONG AS YOU LET THEM KNOW IT SHOULD BE OK. I ALSO HAD PERSONAL INJURY AND PUBLIC LIABILITY ANYWAY THROUGH BHS MEMBERSHIP.

I AGREE ABOUT HAVING A LOAN AGREEMENT - WE USED THE BHS OUTLINE ONE ON THE WEBSITE AND JUST AMENDED IT TO WHAT WE WANTED.
