Hi guys I was just wondering what you would all pay for my boy??
Well i know how much im asking for him so was just wondering what all you people think so i can compare.
15.2/3hh palomino PBA gelding.
Just turned 6 years old.
Needs competent rider to bring him on as hes still very green.
Started schooling and his flatwork is coming along nicely
Good in traffic but can be spooky at stupid things.
Good to handle, catch, with farrier, to groom etc, were working on loading and its getting much better.
Hacks alone or in company.
Not a novice ride as can be spooky.
Can be quite stubborn to ride so you need to be firm with him as he will find any opportunity to take the mick outa you.
Very affectionate and loving.
5* home only, very sad sale.
Also what would you write in an advert??
Just read that back and he sounds like a nightmare, lol, but hes not that bad
Thankies people

i think you should say what u just wrote on here, i'm a firm believer that you should be as honest as possible when advertising a horse. price wise i'm useless at things like that but i'll have him for free if you want? he's absolutly stunning!

He's green, no track record. You don't mention his breeding so, assuming it's not really special I'd guess at near 2k?

You want to be honest but maybe you can emphasise the good more in the advert:

15.2/3hh palomino PBA gelding.
6 years old.
Needs competent rider to bring him on as hes still very green.
Started schooling, flatwork coming along nicely
Good to handle, catch and shoe.
Hacks alone or in company

And leave out the more negative bits for questions if someone contacts you - you don't want them all to decide he's not for them before they phone

First of all, stunning horse!! Just the sort of thing I'd like to take on when my boy gets a bit older. However, as mentionned above - does he jump? Is his breeding of any note, particularly the arab side? Is he registered PBA? Has he been out to any competitions at all?
Also, where are you? And how much do you want for him? PM me if you like, I'm not just being nosy, I know someone who might well be interested if the price were right.
If I'm brutally honest, and I would come and see him if I were looking, cos he looks like just my kind of horse - I wouldn't pay much more than £2k for him. And only that much if he jumps!! Even if he's only done a little bit, would want to see him over a fence.

Is he registered with the Palomino Society or whatever it is?

Any sort of registration is a bonus, and there are loads of palomino fans out there.

Pretty boy, Good Luck.

hi

i would say around £2.5k.
you say he has a great temp and i think the downsides like him taking the mick are due to his age and the fact he is green.
he sounds like a genuine horse and you have been honest in your post. alot of people wouldn't put the downsides and people would pay the price without thinking about it.
id say in your advert that he is a 6 year old, needs a competent rider to carry on his education. say good in traffic, to hack alone and in company., all the other good points and say he can be a little spooky hence why a competent rider needed.
what horse isnt a little spooky etc...they all have there quirks.

good luck finding him a new home x

Personally, think I would say not suitable for novice or requires confident rider because he's still green and needs bringing on. He looks lovely but he could soon be ruined if sold to a novice.

Hi, have pm'ed a couple of you that wanted more information on him.
Thanks for all your help on the advert.
Due to the fact that i have to hire an arena and have been working on his flatwork, he hasnt done much jumping but has popped the odd cross pole, he didnt get broken until he was 5 hence the reason he is still quite green and hasnt done alot.
Hes registered with the arab horse society but not the palomino one.
Its so frustrating selling, I've had abit of interest in him but i just want to find him the right home.
I dont want him spoiling as he has so much potential
Thanks for all you help
xx
