For personal reasons out of my control i need to sell my horse but want to send him away to be sold on behalf of me.

Does anyone know any yards/someone who does this in the north west that they would recommend to me?

I dont want him going to anyone dodgy.

Thanks.

i know it's not what you want to hear, but you have a much better chance of making sure he goes to a good home if you sell him yourself. plus, you know the horse better than any dealer/seller can, so you can answer the prospective purchasers' questions honestly... better for everyone, and the horse.
i sold my last one on horsequest. was able to write an absolute essay about her, which weeded out all the numpties/timewasters, and the first person to see her bought her, and is still chuffed to bits with her. happy owner = happy horse = happy me.
sorry, hope this helps a bit. very sorry to hear you have to sell your horse.

When i sold the last horse a few years ago i sent her away to be sold.
She went to my instructors yard to be sold as i knew they would be able to show here off to her best.
When somebody came to view her i was always there so i got to meet her potential owners.
I knew she would be looked after and one day i went up to see her and i couldn't find her....she was in the solarium having a sun session!!
In the end i had the choice of 2 homes for her, i made the right choice and i still (3yrs on) get letters about her......she has just had a gorgeous filly and they sent us photos etc.
Im up north so if you want details about who i sent my girl to just pm me.

I agree that would be the ideal situation however it is not a viable option hence why i want recommendations on someone to sell him for me. thanks for your help though

Yes we sold 2 horses that way and met the new owners who stay in contact. Sometimes a reputable person will get you a better price anyway.
