I bought a young pony as a project to bring on and sell, he has turned out to be an absolute star, hes quiet and excellent to do in everyway and hes made me so proud of him.
He has recently been sold to a riding school and will occasionally be used for RDA work when hes trained so that is brilliant news. Throughout having him ive become quite attached to him and really miss him now hes gone!

The people said i could keep in contact with them to see how he is and to come and see him, i will probably leave it for a month or so before i ring but would you go back to see them a while afterwards? I think it would upset me to go back and see him not as i remembered or something like that!

We sold out little pony a year ago. Followed them down to their yard 10 mins after they left, just to make sure she settled in. Sometimes go back and see her. Only been about 3 or 4 times in a year. Mum still emails her often. Was quiet upset first time i went but the rest were fine. Think were going to go soon. Don;t like to go too often as she isnt ours anymore and don't want to invade.

I want her to know how hes getting on if it settles her. I means its not like im gunna do something stupid with him and he has a home for life! but i just dont like the idea that shes gunna be there, possibly interfearing. I dont mean for that to sound rude. I just dont wanna be phoned up everyday asking for updates when there isnt anything to say.

and yes if i ever had to loan/sell skid i'd wanna know how she was getting on. shes my little girl and shes been through abuse in her early life and passed from home to home so yeah.

I keep in touch with all my horses owner in some way. I bought my section D at 6yr old and he wa son his 3rd or 6th owner an had moved around a bit but it transpired that he was born and bred just a few min from my yard and is the local policewoman so I have seen her often. I bought my daugthers pony as a 3yr old off a lovely lady who said her breeder would like to stay in touch and i intended in getting in touch with her but only a couple of weeks after having him, she was stood at the side of the road waiting to cross, and a car pulled up and it was his breeder. It was all a bit weird as she lives about as far way on the other side of the New Forest to us and she just happened to be passing. She now frequently comes to shows that he competes at and we have swapped photos and stories. My other 3 were bought off the forest but one was bred by my farrier so I see him regularly and I ocassionally see the breeder of the other 2 so I chat to her and tell her how well they are oing. I also ocassionally see the stallions owner of one of the babies and let her know how his offspring is doing.
I have also sold 2 ponies, one to a dealer and have no idea how she is or where she went but i knew that would prob be the case but the othe rone we sold, went to the field next door for 2 years before she moved somewhere else very local.

The new owner of my old horse and I kep in touch. We get on well and I took my dog there for a holiday when I was going away. Love to keep up with him and see him so happy and well. Also keep in touch with the old owners of my new one. It was a genuine sale and I don't think, if things had been different they would have sold him.

I keep in touch with the new owners of my old horse (he is a forum memeber) and i love seeing how Trike is getting on and hearing about what they have been up to with him.

I haven't actaully been to see him but i have been sent lots of photos and vids and with any luck i will bump into him at a few shows.

I spose it helps that i know he has gone to a brilliant home and that he is looked after so well but i think it would upset me if i felt he wasn't being looked after properly and looked unhappy. But if i thought he was gonna end up like that i wouldn't of sold him in the first place.

I wanted the best for him so i made sure he got it and it really makes me happy to see him so happy and loved.

I sold my cob 2 1/2 years ago and his new owner still phones me and sends me pics of him from time to time, he also said i could go anytime i liked to see him and ride if i wanted to, but i never have as he isnt mine anymore and the phone calls and photos are enough for me.

I keep in touch with the owner of my daughters old pony on the phone and by letter/photographs - I don't think I could go and visit him though. When we were preparing to sell him I made sure my daughter was ok with every thing, however when I dropped him off at his new home it was me who couldnt stop crying - my poor hubby had do do the paperwork and money side of it. I drove past the yard about a year later and cried just thinking about him - I couldn't cope with the humiliation of crying in front of his new owner again!
