Any experience please,, do they sell or will I be wasting my time and better off going for local freeads? Thanks:)

Most worthwhile with well known brands - Albion, Devoucoux etc - which can get good prices. I would think it might not be worth it with an unbranded saddle, however nice it is, as it is difficult for people to judge the quality from photos alone. Worth trying British Dressage, as you can advertise free, with photos, in the Classified (and dont have to be a BD member)

It depends on the saddle to be honest - I find synthetics sell really well on there, but unbranded leather saddles tend to go for less than £50. I have tried to sell some well known makes on there (Jeffries, Stubben) and got a very limited response. Ebay also take a big cut - listing fee, then a % of sale fee, then paypal will also take a fee, oh and they freeze your money until positive feedback is left as well, so you could end up with no saddle and no money. I wont be selling saddles on there again any time soon unless it is via cash on collection/delivery.

It's probably better for buyers willing to take a chance rather than sellers!
I have bought 2 fantastic saddles from ebay and was really lucky that they both fit.
I bought an 8 month old Kaymar black english saddle, that was like new for £160.
And just a few weeks ago I got a Thorowgood Griffin Selecta for £80 that looked like it had never been used!

I've had my saddle for sale on loads of websites and had minimal interest. In the end I put it on ebay and sold it really easily, just make sure you put a reserve on it. And check the p&p so you don't under or over charge :)

i've sold 2 saddles on there for about what i wanted money wise- a synthetic and a 2nd hand heritage which i got about £150 for...more expensive saddles i'm not sure. i think albions etc sell well but they always will! i think you need to decide how desperate you are to sell...yes you can use free ads but youmight have to wait a while...

I've sold three saddles on Ebay, and bought one.

The three I sold were good makes, Fieldhouse, Bates, Humphrey & Swain - and got good to reasonable prices.

Absolutely no problems with payments.

I have bought two on ebay ( Wintec dressage 500 and Wintec Isabella Worth) and sold the Wintec 500 a year later. Paid very good price for both and got more back for my 500 a year on than i paid!!

Thanks everyone for your replies. Seems like it could be worth a go. It's a nice little saddle, a Falcon VSD,, seems a shame for it to be sat in my tackroom.

Right better get my techno head on and go and figure out how to go about it:D

I just brought a 15inch T4 Thorowgood off Ebay, was a good price but doesn't fit so will more than likely be relisting it!

I had to arrange the collection and the website parcels2go was great, reasonable prices and DHL delivery was arranged which all went very smoothly.

You could try Horse Gossip first as that is free?

Good luck

Think it all depends on the saddle (as some others have said), sold a nice falcon event saddle on there, but trying to sell a good Barnsby saddle at the moment, but its an 18" and there is minimal interest in it, people watch but don't bid! You'll get more interest if your happy to send it though as you're appealing to a wider audience :D
