ooh i was going to stick a couple on ebay, what have they changed?!! I sold one no probs on there a couple of years ago but sounds like that may not be the case now?!

L for Leather in Irlam buys saddles in, or horse bits in Ramsbottom will sell them for you for a commision you would prob get better price at horse bits buy may have towait few months for them to sell.

When selling my saddles (a derby house dressage and a stubben) I rang all the saddlers in my area and they told me to put them on ebay, as they couldnt offer that much for them due to the profit they needed to make...... one offered me £150 for my stubben WTF?? - i sold it on ebay for £450

Beeston! Sale on every wednesday except the first one of the month. You can put a reserve on. Good day out as well BUT you can drop them off, go to the sales office and arrange for money to be sent to you if you wish.In fact I think thats how it is always done. Only been once. Sold one of my saddles outside the auction.

Saddles Direct in Preston will often buy known makes. They also suggest e-bay might mean you get more for them. My saddles didn't get near the reserve on e-bay though.

I think provided they are 17 or 17.5 and W then saddles direct will buy them but agree you would get more on ebay.

Any chance a saddler could part-ex them for a dr saddle? You should be able to sell the Ideal if a popular size. Its anything that is 18N that would be hard to shift!

hmmm...might give some saddlers a ring- TBH i just can't be arsed with ebay- finding a box big enough to sell a saddle is way too much effort for me

plus, like i said those new rules about withholding money through paypal concerns me.

only problem is that the two saddles i have are narrow. marvelous. and my saddler doesn't buy 2nd hand ones- guess i could get someone else out to sort me out a new dressage saddle-
