So I’ve been through all my storage bins etc and pulled out what I don’t/won’t use. Been advertising it all on Facebook without much luck. I think I’m pricing pretty fairly! Some stuff is only lightly used. Any tips for selling?
I’ve been putting it up in groups but maybe it’s worth doing individual adverts so people can look specifically. Or joblots? If Covid wasn’t a thing I’d take it all to a tack sale. If I can’t get rid I’ll just take it to Catlips when it’s safe to do so - but I’d rather the cash at the moment! Tia!

I would put it on Ebay if you aren't having much luck on Facebook - although if Facebook isn't working out then maybe it is priced a little high as I have sold a lot of stuff over the years and never has much trouble.
Just make sure you have postage bags at the ready, good photos of the products, labels and any defects and a good title.

Good luck! I need to have a good sort out too!

Yeah I’ll review my prices, And try eBay! Thank you!
I didn’t think 10/15 for a rug with tags on was pricey but I guess everybody is strained at the moment. I’d accept offers but not even had a sniff of interest!

I put as much as possible into specialised groups- Secondhand PE rug selling groups for their rugs, Snuggy hoods for them, and small pony rugs into Lead rein/first ridden groups. There will be others, but that’s mostly what I sell!
Good luck.
Good idea. Target the audience! I’ll check out the pony groups as I have pony rugs!

Last time I had a clearout I took everything to a carboot tack sale and sold loads of things. Everything had tags with description and price on and people could see the condition. Did get some haggling but still made close to £200 so it was worth it compared to putting the items on the net and having to sort out postage and potential disputes etc.

Yeah, that’s what I’d love to do but there just isn’t any running near me (also not sure how comfortable I would be doing one at present)

Do you also put it on market place? I have listed quite a lot recently and have found I had more interest from market place from people that weren't local to me than I did on the local groups. It has meant I needed to post but I always made sure the postage cost was covered.

Yeah some is on marketplace, I think I need to go through and spruce up my adverts!

I've had very little luck with tack carboot sales, everyone wants a real bargain..I'm talking £5 or less. E bay has been good particularly with well known brands. Rugs are probably best through Facebook but buyers want clean and mended ones!

I've sold a fair bit on marketplace over the last 12 months. Its weird though it sort of goes in peaks and troughs. Most people get paid monthly on either the last friday or a set day towards the end of the month, thats when I found most things sold best. I also found listing things individually was better than an advert with a big list of stuff and a few photos.

Fingers crossed you get some interest next week after everyone has been paid.

Ok great! I’ll get some better photos and list them all individually!

I have had most success with eBay as well. I sold a bit at a car boot sale lately and made about £60 in the end but the bigger/more pricey stuff didn't sell and I've had no interest on Facebook either. eBay is a faff but it does work - I just sold my old saddle on there too (£100, better than nothing) and it went to Slovakia!

I love it there, always come out so dirty after having a rummage! ? I’m sure the lady is sick of the sight of me. I don’t even know how I end up with this much stuff but I’m always taking a load there. Handy in return for fly sprays and things I actually need!

Unfortunately i find most people want everything for nothing and even decent stuff doesnt hold its value! I literally have a tackroom full of stuff to sell but the thought of selling it to idiots who want it for free, just puts me off!

I know what you mean you do get cheeky offers on EBay but people do realise it's not really overpriced so they end paying anyway I find.

That's what I used to do but only really went as someone I knew always went so I went as well hence why I don't go now, Sheila is such a nice lady we used chat with her for ages.

Confess I usually only skim the ads with lots of stuff listed. I’m more likely to buy something if listed individually although it’s a lot more work for you.
