Considering selling my WOW and a pony saddle but seems thats impossible locally and don't want the risk of sending and people saying they didn't get it. Has anyone sold to these 2 companies and if so, roughly what money do they give you (as in how much % less roughly than if you sold privately)? I'm considering a part exchange as I'd like a 2nd hand one to replace. Just wondering if they're worth bothering with...

I sold one to Saddlebank, I got a LOT less than I'd originally wanted, i.e. £250 for a saddle I expected to sell for over £500, but given that I didn't succeed in selling it myself after 6 months I was just happy for the cash. It was easy and they were transparent so it wasn't stressful at least!

I sold via the Saddlebank on commission. It was with them for a few months, went out on trial a couple of times. Had some silly offers come through. The offer I accepted was £150 off asking, and approx. £350 less than I would have got selling it myself. But I had already tried to sell locally and it hadn’t worked. Their communication was great and I’d highly recommend them.

Sold one through saddlebank. Super easy, didn’t get quite as much money as I ideally wanted, but the ease of it all made it worth it for me

I used saddles direct for a dressage saddle, sorry can't remember what the commission was, it took ages to sell, but that was during lock-down so probably no one competing , the price they charged was fair - it was a little used saddle as Yogi went lame soon after I bought it but it was a few years old so I was happy with the result

I sold through sheepham saddles, easy to deal with & got a decent price. I sold on commission basis, but I think you can also just sell to them if its popular saddle

I sold a k&m to the saddle bank, probably could have got £150 more selling privately but having had a keiffer that I struggled to sell i couldn't face trying to sell another one. Neither would take the keiffer, they only sell the more popular brands and I don’t think either of them take wow saddles. I've also previously sold a wow saddle, took a long time but did eventually get all the parts sold separately via facebook in the end.

I had one that was a very forward cut eventing saddle. Sold with saddle bank on commission they gave me a price they were putting it up for and how much I would get. Got a good price for a hard to sell saddle.

I sold 2 through Saddles Direct on commission. I can’t remember exact percentages but I was happy with the price I got and they’d been transparent throughout what I might expect them to sell for. They were really easy to deal with and arranged the courier etc (albeit paid for by customer). In the end both saddles sold in the same week, after about 6 months.

I’d happily use them again. For me, selling without any hassle was more important than getting another £100-£200 out of it.

Saddle Bank are brilliant, I have used them twice for selling saddles in the past.
But recently they quoted me £150 less than a similar company to sell a saddle so I used them instead of SB but it's been with them 5 months now. I wish I'd have stuck with Saddle Bank and got it gone sooner and accepted the less money.

I would definitely go with SB again though.

I tried saddles direct with two of mine but the suggested price was quite low so I put them on ebay with that as I reserve and they sold for twice the price. Seemed straight forward though.

For posting I just insured up to a value I was happy with. Think it was about £20 to post including £500ish insurance, tracking and signature.

I got quotes from them and sheepham and sheepham were offering more…but still several hundred less than what the saddle was actually worth.

I sold mine on eBay in the end and had a LOT of interest, it was really easy. I got what I felt it was worth too. I’ve sold 2 on eBay and had no issues at all. Just need to package it well etc x

I sold a T8 endurance through adjustable saddle specialists, I went for them buying form me and got a really good price, they sold it within a week for about £200 more. I also did similar with a wintec endurance recently with saddle bank, they didnt give me a great price but it took them a month to get it sold so probably worth it as I just wanted it gone

Thanks everyone. I tried to get a price for them but all three websites say they're not interested in a WOW saddle as its not a brand they deal with. So now Im not sure what to do next... :(

I have used both but prefer Saddle bank. very though easy process, and email once sold and money in bank

If you join the WOW FB groups & also put up on eBay that’s probably your best bet with the WOW. Might be better to sell as separate parts as likely to be more people searching for individual parts than the exact combination of parts your saddle has if that makes sense?

Have you tried your local saddler- If they hold second hand stock? I've gone through the process of getting offers with the above online sellers but then found my local shop offered me only about £50 less and it was so much easier to just drop it off and get paid rather than have to pack and send it.
