I am finding it really hard to advertise Spooks. Meant to advertise him beginning of April, and I still haven't taken his advert photos. I just keep putting it off, as each day he gets better and better, I want him to be perfect! but if I go on like this he will never be sold!

Do you think I should just get on with it and advertise him? Or will people want a perfectly schooled 11.2? His loose jumping is so good I want to get a child jumping him under saddle next and see how he goes, but is this really necessary for a little lead rein pony?

Am I too much of a perfectionist? Or will buyers appreciate the extra effort put in?

It's always good to make a horse or pony the best that it can be but are you desperate to sell or not in any hurry. Will it make a great deal of difference to the price you can ask? I have never had any experience of selling a pony so don't really know what that market is like. Are you sure you aren't getting just a bit attached to him?!

If you put in the effort, bump up the price a bit! Esp. if he is very well schooled!

I already think the price that I will be asking is quite high (everyone has told me to ask it as he is worth it, but seems alot for a 11.2, but will see what happens)

Then now is the time to get a move on. Coming into spring, with the weather getting better and little kiddywinks wanting to get out and about. This is why I cannot bring horses on to sell. I'd end up keeping them all!

an 11.2hh that will ride on and off the LR is what people want most. Get him working with a small kiddie, perhaps loan him out for the summer for pony club? Get him out there, get him seen and then watch his value rocket. To ask good money he really does need to be spot on as 11.2hh LR welshies are ten a penny.

Well...there's cute little ponies...and then there's your Spooks! I honestly think he is one of the most gorgeous little ponies I've ever seen (with my very inexperienced eyes

)...and I'm sure you could turn him into something really fantastic and he'd be worth some extra moolah! I can see why you'd want him to be perfect!

I am glad it isnt just me! I think he is something special, but I am no pony expert, he just has something about him

the more experience on his CV the better.. so if you can get some light teenager/child to jump him, I am sure it will add to his value, and his saleability.

I would certainly get him going off the lead rein with a small kid, (beg, borrow or steal one

) if value will double if he can go off the lead rein as well, plus as he is stunning, he can do leid rein classes as well as first ridden, not many ponies can,
