I feel sick with anxiety for the vet tomorrow. Mixed opinions, mum says stop being silly and stop being anxious, just switch it off. Oh I wish. Crisis team say distract myself and they will be waiting for me to go up after as they are all just as invested in the situation.

I want to be over reacting. I really want that. And want for it to be a non event and something incredibly minor that I will wonder what was the fuss about. Please.

Sensible people of hho tell me I am over reacting.

It is human nature to worry about something like this, and virtually impossible to switch off from it.

I know this is easier said than done, but try and distract yourself as much as you can for the rest of today. What time is the vet due tomorrow?

I'm not sensible at all but one thing I have learnt is that whatever you think the vet is going to say, good/bad/indifferent it is NEVER what you expect. In fact that's why you're paying them, as they are the experts.

Although I can never take my own advice, try to look at the big picture.

Best of luck we will all be with you in spirit :)

The problem with people telling you to stop being anxious is that it is, as you know, not that easy. I think what is maybe a bit easier is to put your worries into a box - I always give myself a time - something like 'I will think about that when I leave the office'. For me it works, but of course it is a very personal thing, and you need to find what works for you. Remember that you CAN get through this, and you WILL be able to cope with it. I don't know what else to say other than I wish you all the very best.

I'm not sensible either but I've learned to think about it as wasting my time. If I get good news, it was a waste of time and energy worrying. If I get bad news, it was a waste of time and energy worrying because I should've enjoyed the "calm" before the storm. I try so hard to deal with the actual situation and not what ifs. It isn't easy!

On the other hand, if you weren't stressed by this, that would be strange! Some level of worry is natural.

Best of luck to you and your boy. Also sounds like you have a good support system from the crisis team no matter the outcome.

If only we could switch it off...

It’s OK and natural to have some anxiety about this visit to the vets but you and I know it’s all about proportional response. So be like our horses..live in the minute as it happens. Relinquish trying to control or second guess what’s will happen. Do tonight’s usual routine , go to bed, get up and do your usual routine, go to yard..let the situation come to you. Robin will be fine..he has no expectations of tomorrow. Meet any challenges as they appear with information at the time. Wish I could wave a magic wand for you but instead I’m sending calming vibes..

I have to take him there for 10.30. I hope he isn’t too disappointed when we get there and we are at vets instead of a jolly.

Oh that's good. One small positive is that it is a morning appointment, and not an afternoon one - otherwise you would be sat twiddling your thumbs for hours on end!

Best of luck for tomorrow - and in the meantime we are all here as a sounding board for you. :)

I love that picture! It's like when you're told to."cheer up" when you're having a bad day. Forcing a smile for the sake of it doesn't make everything else vanish.

Good luck for today and i hope the vet is on time and it goes smoothly.
