Sensitive flank and belly

Recently over the past few days. when i brush my mare and get to her under belly and flank, she will swing her head round with pinned ears and some times try and bite me, but she is fine all around her girth and with the girth. Ive considered it could be ulcers but she isnt sensitive all over. Im worried about what it could be so could any one give me a second opinion? Thanks

Any other ulcer symptoms? They don't have to be girthy for ulcers to be the problem. My friend's horse showed no symptoms other than ' burping'. He had ulcers when scoped.

It is most likely to be ulcers, or other digestive pain. What is she fed? Does she get a high fibre, forage based diet, or does she eat cereals/ molasses feeds?
I have found that Aloe Vera juice keeps my mare comfortable.
