sensitive mouth?

Since my horse has come back from loan after he has been ridden more often he has got chapped lips from his bit. his bit fits him well its just he has a super sensitive mouth is there anything i can put on him to prevent it
 
A bitless bridle?

Sorry, not very constructive, but is it a possible?
 
Use rubber bit guards and then something like emu oil, human chapped lip cream, a decent moisturiser, aloe vera gel or even good old vaseline. Can't recommend the bit guards enough.
 
Try putting vaseline on the corners of his mouth before you ride. Hemaroid (sprry don't know how to spell it!) cream is great at healing sore mouths!! Just don't tell the chemist it's for your horse!!!

Hes only in a loose ring snaffle think his loaner has been a bit hard in his mouth when she took him galloping across fields and he is an exracer so she proberbly found it was quite hard to find her breaks
